Women’s Health

Thoughtful, joined-up care for every stage of adult life.

Women’s health concerns are common, but that does not mean they should be brushed off, normalised, or left unexplored for months. At The Lagom Clinic, we offer private women’s health appointments in Bristol with time to listen properly, investigate thoroughly, and build a plan that fits your life.

Whether you are dealing with pelvic pain, period changes, contraception questions, menopause symptoms, PCOS, hormone concerns or simply a sense that something is not right, we take a whole-person approach. That means looking not just at symptoms, but at the wider picture: sleep, stress, mood, energy, exercise, nutrition, work, relationships and long-term health. Your current women’s health page already positions the clinic around pelvic pain, menopause, PCOS, contraception including coils, cervical smears, blood testing, and rapid referral when needed, so this draft builds on that rather than changing direction.

A broader approach to women’s health

Women’s health is not one issue. It spans hormonal health, gynaecological symptoms, contraception, cycle changes, fertility questions, sexual health, physical symptoms, and mental wellbeing. These often overlap, and they can change over time.

At The Lagom Clinic, our aim is not to rush you through a checklist. It is to understand what is happening, identify what needs investigating, and help you move forward with a clear plan.

What we can help with

Our women’s health appointments can be a good starting point for concerns including:

  • pelvic pain
  • painful, heavy or irregular periods
  • perimenopause and menopause symptoms
  • coils
  • polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
  • contraception advice and review
  • hormone-related symptoms
  • cervical smear testing
  • general women’s health concerns that do not fit neatly into one box

Time to investigate properly

One of the biggest frustrations in women’s health is feeling as though no one has joined the dots. Symptoms get separated, appointments feel rushed, and you leave without a clear answer.

Our consultations are designed differently. Lagom’s general practice model offers a minimum of 30 minutes, with longer appointments available for more complex issues, and the clinic can often complete investigations such as blood tests during the same visit.

That extra time matters. It means we can look properly at:

  • your symptoms and how long they have been going on
  • cycle history and reproductive health history
  • mood, sleep and stress
  • medications and previous treatment
  • whether blood tests, scans or referral might be appropriate
  • what practical treatment options are likely to help

A lifestyle-led women’s health clinic

At The Lagom Clinic, women’s health is not treated in isolation from the rest of your wellbeing. Hormones matter, but so do sleep, nutrition, exercise, alcohol, stress, body composition, metabolic health and mental health.

That is why our approach is both medical and practical. Where medication is appropriate, we will discuss it. Where lifestyle factors are driving or worsening symptoms, we will address those too.

When you need more than a GP appointment

A good private GP should be able to assess and manage many women’s health concerns directly. Dr Guest is a specialist in women’s health and all our GP’s are experienced in the field. Should you require an urgent scan we can arrange this directly with Nuffield Hospital. We also have close connections with local gynaecologists, should onward referral be required.

That means you have one sensible starting point, without being left to work out the system on your own.

Why choose The Lagom Clinic

We offer women’s health care that is:

  • calm, discreet and sensitive
  • medically thorough
  • lifestyle-led rather than symptom-only
  • supported by longer GP appointments
  • able to include blood tests and onward referral where appropriate.
